Job Duties:
Responsible for laser diode array packaging and testing processes
Develop new manufacturing processes associated with the packaging/soldering of laser diode bars and arrays.
Support existing manufacturing processes through hands-on interaction with operators, monitoring of yield and quality metrics, and other continuous improvement activities.
Support business development efforts by interfacing with prospective customers, supervising the creation of prototypes, and contributing to technical marketing efforts.
Basic Qualifications (Principal Engineer Level 3):
5 years of related engineering experience with bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a similar STEM field degree.
3 years of related engineering experience with master's degree, 0 years of related experience with a PhD, or an additional 4 years of related experience (9 minimum) may be included in lieu of degree.
Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain manufacturing processes.Statistical Process Control experience
Familiarity with Design of Experiments methodologies
Travel (
Experience within the semiconductor industry, especially with a variety of packaging techniques (reflow ovens, automated bonders, wire bonding, etc.)

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
