    Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Male Recovery Coach/Peer Specialist to join our team and provide invaluable support to individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders. As a vital member of our organization, you will draw upon your personal experience with recovery to inspire and guide others toward achieving their own goals.

    Responsibilities:
    1. Peer Support: Offer one-on-one peer support to individuals in various stages of recovery, sharing personal experiences to instill hope and motivation.
    2. Advocacy: Advocate for clients within the healthcare system, legal settings, and community resources to ensure they receive comprehensive and effective care.
    3. Group Facilitation: Conduct support groups and therapeutic activities to foster a sense of community among individuals in recovery, promoting mutual support and understanding.
    4. Goal Setting: Collaborate with clients to develop personalized recovery plans, setting achievable goals and milestones to support their progress.
    5. Education and Resource Provision: Provide information on recovery resources, treatment options, and community support services to empower clients to make informed decisions about their recovery journey.
    6. Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations by utilizing effective de-escalation techniques and connecting clients with appropriate emergency services when necessary.
    7. Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, progress, and any relevant information in compliance with organizational policies.
    Qualifications:
    1. Lived Experience: Must have personal experience with addiction recovery and a minimum of two years of sustained recovery.
    2. Certification: Possession of relevant certifications as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or willingness to obtain certification within the first six months of employment.
    3. Empathy and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    4. Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and other professionals in the field of addiction recovery.
    5. Flexibility: Adaptability to the dynamic nature of the recovery field and a willingness to embrace new approaches and interventions.
    6. Commitment to Confidentiality: Understanding and commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of client information and adhering to ethical standards.
