Description
ResponsibilitiesProvides professional, competent, safe, appropriate direct patient care in the collection of blood samples from patients age newborn and older; management of all documentation related to blood collection, management of communication between the Laboratory and ancillary and off campus sites, both verbal and hardcopy documents, manages the registration process and transfer of information for outpatient and off campus. Maintains a professional, cooperative interaction with all hospital departments, medical staff, and the public in keeping with the mission and philosophy of Manatee Memorial Hospital. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for 65 years. Part of the Manatee Healthcare System, the hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. The 295-bed hospital with over 550 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services - including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, a weight-loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women's and children's services. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (Associates Degree preferred)
Excellent communication skills
Phlebotomy National Certification or Eligible (Must be obtained within 1 year of employment)
Computer skills
