Release Manager/Scrum Master

Location - Kennesaw, GA/Jacksonville, FL/Chicago, IL

Summary:

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating both planned and emergency releases. Ensure the release process is consistently followed, assessed, improved, documented, and socialized. Collaborate with various teams to assess and verify the impact of changes. Host meetings, track releases, manage scope, and prepare reports to improve the release process continuously.

Job Duties:

Track releases across all scrum teams.
Create Jira dashboards and filters to manage release scope.
Host release kick-off meetings to review timelines and logistics.
Finalize scope and address potential conflicts with other changes.
Attend release meetings to review status, signoffs, scope changes, and other issues.
Send meeting invitations, prepare detailed agendas, and document meeting minutes.
Announce release milestones such as scope freeze, code freeze, and sign-off dates.
Ensure all release signoffs are obtained and documented in Jira.
Prepare and send reports showing release readiness.
Liaise and follow up with release team members as needed.
Maintain release documentation.
Provide support during deployments, including non-business hours.
Open Change Requests in BMC Remedy tools and complete related forms.

Required Skills:

2+ years of experience as a release manager/coordinator in a fast-paced environment.
Strong partnership and influencing skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and senior management.
Understanding of application and system architecture.
Proficiency in SharePoint, Jira, Wiki, Confluence, and MS Excel (pivot tables and charts).
Experience in hosting and managing conference meetings.
Skilled in risk analysis and mitigation.
Ability to report data in both technical and executive formats.
Familiarity with enterprise change management processes and Agile methodologies.

Proficient in gathering data and managing defects.
