Kimball Medical Solutions is a Medical Device Contract Manufacturer in Indianapolis, IN. This is an onsite position that will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead. Major health, dental, vision, and complementary insurances starting day 1. We offer a 50% match on your first 6% of 401k contribution with opportunity for an employer contribution annually.

    Position OverviewYou will help with the development, implementation, of new manufacturing processes, support existing manufacturing processes, drive improvements while meeting goals of quality, cost and delivery for our customers.

    In addition, this position supports continuous improvement by performing product/process analysis for cost reductions and improved efficiency.

    Quick SummaryAs a diversified contract medical device manufacturer this position offers you the opportunity to work on some of the markets most exciting lifesaving products.

    You will contribute to our company's overall success by developing manufacturing process, designing tooling/equipment, conducting tests, troubleshooting and creating solutions to challenging problems.

    The Manufacturing Engineer will work within a customer focused team to meet and exceed our customer's expectations.

    You will have the opportunity to further enhance your skills by working with all levels of the organization while gaining knowledge and experience in areas outside the Manufacturing Engineering department.

    In our business, it is critical the candidate can demonstrate a solid understanding of the importance of quality, regulatory requirements and good team work.

    Background RequirementsConsiderations for this outstanding opportunity to support the manufacture of life saving devices will be given to candidates that possess:5 years minimum experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry delivering engineering capabilitiesExperience with ISO13485 and FDA regulations and strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Understand production process validation, are self-driven, desire to solve problems, have the ability to implement effective solutions and possess an understanding of Lean Manufacturing MethodologiesDegree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experienceIf this sounds like you then seriously consider joining our team of professionals who thrive in a contract manufacturing environment and become our next Manufacturing Engineer

    Key Performance Objectives Short Term:
    (0 to 3 months)

    Learn/train on business units Quality system requirements & Kimball Electronics philosophies and cultureBuild relationships with team membersLearn ERP system (IQMS) navigation, extraction of documents & change order processLearn automated manufacturing lines you are responsible for supportingLearn & understand current process bottlenecks Midterm:
    (3 to 6 months)

    Assist operations with eliminating process wasteDesign/create tooling, fixtures and equipmentCreate detailed technical documentation such as manufacturing instructions, maintenance instructions, testing procedures & Engineering reports Implement process improvements to eliminate downtimeAssist in validation efforts for commissioning of process improvementsParticipate in Lean manufacturing training and projects (Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)Long term:
