Job Summary:
The Raw Material Supervisor leads a team in receiving incoming raw material shipments of fresh apples, and other product components including frozen red fruits, aseptic purees and other ingredients and sanitation chemicals.
The Raw Material Supervisor is also responsible for management of the ambient, cold storage, freezer and waste removal areas and processes.
This includes the quality monitoring, management of, and consumption of fresh apples.Job Responsibilities & Tasks:
Provide guidance and general direction to team members and maintain a positive work environment Ensure fair and consistent application of all Materne N.A.
policies, standards and procedures Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures. Fully investigate incidents and perform root cause analyses. Work with plant leadership to implement corrective action when necessary to eliminate recurrence.Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and sanitation policies, standards and procedures, and GMPs Ensure compliance with supply chain policies, standards and procedures Lead the efforts of the raw material warehouse team organized to support 24/7 operations in meeting operational goals in the areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery, motivation and environmental.
Monitor daily work performance and on the job training of raw material warehouse employees Lead daily meetings and provide clear communication on work-related matters Plan work schedules and assignments and ensure they are completed within the assigned timeline Collaborate with Quality to provide supplier samples for testing, review test results and release conforming materials for production use.
Ensure appropriate monitoring of fresh apple quality and collaborate with other departments as needed to adjust apple blends, or apple consumption to reduce waste and ensure product quality.
Monitor production schedule and creates weekly inventory list of items to pull by FEFO and make updates based on deliveries.
Monitor production needs and deliveries. Stock production locations with released product and ensure monitoring of production returns for re-use before expiration.Develop warehouse team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees to meet business needs and to contribute positively to the company culture Maintain warehouse team job performance by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Collaborates with Human Resources to administer discipline when needed. Maintain receiving, warehousing, and production delivery operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Owns the process for providing instruction and training on safe operation of Powered Industrial Trucks.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local receiving, warehousing and material handling requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Collaborate with Purchasing on supplier issues, improvements, and annual reviews.Examine incoming shipment contents and comparing with records, (such as manifests, invoices or orders) to verify accuracy Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Work closely with the Supply Chain Specialist regarding all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
Maintain physical condition of warehouse, including adherence to 6'S' principles and inspecting of equipment. Issues work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.Consult and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues such as damages, shortages and nonconformance to specifications Ensure effective scheduling of all inbound and outbound loads for the raw material areas.
Proposes and manages improvement projects. Participates as a member of cross-functional and cross-site projects. Assist and act as back-up to the Finished Goods Warehouse Supervisor. All other duties as assigned Key Performance Indicator (KPI): Loads Received; Safety Incident Rate; Property and Product Damage Incidents; Department Retention; Inventory Accuracy; On-Time Production Delivery Position Requirements:
