Hotel Maintenance Personnel


Position Overview:
Hotel maintenance personnel are responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and repair of the hotel's physical infrastructure and equipment. They play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for guests and staff. The job requires a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:


General Maintenance Tasks:


  • Conduct routine inspections of the hotel premises to identify maintenance needs.
Perform repairs and maintenance work in various areas, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

  • Address plumbing issues, electrical malfunctions, HVAC problems, and other maintenancerelated tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and conduct repairs or coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promptly resolve any safety hazards.

Preventive Maintenance:


  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to proactively identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain hotel systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and replacements.
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.

Guest and Staff Support:


  • Respond promptly to guest requests for maintenance assistance and ensure their needs are met satisfactorily.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping and the front desk, to address maintenance issues and minimize guest disruption.
  • Provide support and assistance to hotel staff regarding maintenancerelated concerns and equipment operation.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with guests, staff, and external contractors.

Vendor and Contractor Coordination:


  • Coordinate and oversee the work of external contractors and vendors engaged in maintenance and repair activities.
  • Obtain competitive quotes for maintenancerelated projects and purchases, ensuring costeffectiveness and quality.
  • Monitor contractor performance and adherence to safety standards and contractual obligations.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other service providers.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or vocational training in relevant fields are a plus.
  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair work, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, staff, and contractors.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to identify and resolve safety hazards.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to maintenance emergencies outside regular working hours.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:


  • Maintenance: 5 years (preferred)
