NATURE OF WORK:
Performs responsible administrative support, real-time investigative support, and analytical work in the Crime Center for the Orlando Police Department (OPD).
Primary responsibilities include providing research and investigative support during emergency calls for service, monitoring crime center cameras for incidents in progress, supporting sworn investigators with active investigations, and analyzing case reports for crime trends.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Crime Intelligence Analyst Supervisor with major incidents reviewed individually before final submission.
The analyst is expected to work weekends and overnight hours in the OPD Crime Center which is open 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology
required, or related field with three (3) years experience as an Crime Analyst or Police Research Assistant
required
; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Supplemental Information:
City of Orlando Benefits
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
