General Accountant

Location:
Portland, OR

Compensation:
$65K - $75K per year, DOE

Hours:
Mon-Fri

We are a machinery company specializing in industrial compressed air systems, blowers, vacuum pumps, and positive displacement pumps. Our company is very stable, it was founded in 1949, and we have 8 branches across the U.S. Our production facilities are located here in Portland, Oregon.

What You'll Do:
Work in tandem with our accounting personnel at the branch level, as well as at the customer level
Deal with Purchase Cards and all transactional entries and issues
Manage all Purchase Cards for all branches with reconciliation, orders, termination, etc.
Involved in all transactional entries and issues.

Be the liaison for Office Manager for all branches - deal with customer and vendor issues, errors in billing and system.

Administrator for customer billing site for down payments, online billing, and system issues
Advance and progress billing creation and tracking for all branches.
Cash and bank reconciliation as needed.
General ledgers preparation and entries
Cost accounting services for Field Engineering and Corporate Audit departments, including posting entries to and closing work orders.

Reconcile general ledger account balances as assigned on an ad hoc or continuing basis, including writing up journal entries and/or requesting system entries as needed.

Back-up for various daily or monthly processes; other duties and projects as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum 2-year accounting degree or 3+ years of experience in accounting
Proficient in accounting software (Other than QuickBooks)

Preferred

Qualifications:
Experience working in a CPA firm.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient and HIGH LEVEL of experience in MS Office and EXCEL
