Job Description:


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with technique of plant sample processing, DNA extractions, PCR, handling of carbon nanotubes.
  • Assists with program and outreach efforts.
  • Produces and or delivers presentations
  • Assists in the initiation of applied research studies, collects, and processes data, perform mathematical tasks involved in summarizing results, and generates reports.
  • Assemble and operate laboratory and field equipment.
  • Prepare laboratory tools and reagents and culture media for experiments.
  • Incubates, transfers, and maintains microbial cultures.
  • Prepares and cares for plants in growth chambers or greenhouse.
  • Visit field sites for treatments, rating and collecting plant samples.
  • Other duties as requires

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree
  • 12 years of laboratory and field experience.
  • Experience with use of spectrophotometer, PCR, and DNA extraction equipment.
  • Experience of isolation and handling of fungi and bacteria.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
