Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Assist with technique of plant sample processing, DNA extractions, PCR, handling of carbon nanotubes.
- Assists with program and outreach efforts.
- Produces and or delivers presentations
- Assists in the initiation of applied research studies, collects, and processes data, perform mathematical tasks involved in summarizing results, and generates reports.
- Assemble and operate laboratory and field equipment.
- Prepare laboratory tools and reagents and culture media for experiments.
- Incubates, transfers, and maintains microbial cultures.
- Prepares and cares for plants in growth chambers or greenhouse.
- Visit field sites for treatments, rating and collecting plant samples.
- Other duties as requires
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree
- 12 years of laboratory and field experience.
- Experience with use of spectrophotometer, PCR, and DNA extraction equipment.
- Experience of isolation and handling of fungi and bacteria.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
