    Be Well Orange

    is a 24/7 15-bed program for individuals with both substance use and mental health challenges. The average length of stay is 30 days with a maximum of 90 days.

    The treatment is focused on recovery from both substance use and mental health and most of the treatment will be in group format as well as individual and family counseling .

    POSITION SUMMARY


    The SUTS Counselor-Supervisor provides substance use and mental health treatment services to clients including individual and group counseling, family counseling, completing ASAM 's, assessment, treatment and discharge planning, case management, linkages, referrals, and other supportive services to adults.

    The SUTS Counselor-Supervisor is also provides clinical and administrative supervision to the SUTS Coordinator and SUTS Counselor.

    In Voluntary Residential Substance Use Treatment Programs, the term "member" means "Resident" in consistence with Title 9.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

    • Bachelors' degree and
    two (2) years' experience

    in a treatment environment for mental health and drug and alcohol issues

    ·

    Certification as a CADC I, II or III

    approved by Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA)

    • One (1) year supervisory experience or supervisory training within six (6) months of employment
    • All certifications must be maintained for duration of employment
    • Sensitivity to multi-cultural populations and issues
    • Experience with applying financial requirements for billing and billing codes
    • Must be credentialed as a qualified mental health professional, where applicable
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
    • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. This position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.

    Preferred:

    • Masters' Degree or Licensed Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor (LAADC)
    • Experience in a mental health setting, outpatient clinic, co-occurring treatment, or community mental health service
    • Experience in providing intensive case management and/or intensive community supports using psychiatric rehabilitation concepts
    • Experience providing Substance Use Conditions services
    • Experience and knowledge of the needs of individuals diagnosed with co-occurring conditions and substance use
    • Two (2) years' experience working with a Medi-cal certified program

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders
    • Directs the day to day clinical/administrative operations of assigned team, ensuring all members served receive services as indicated in their recovery plan
    • Provides specialized services and interventions related to substance use/addictive conditions, including thematic groups, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with external agencies and resources
    • Oversees and monitors accuracy of medical records
    • Ensures staff documentation, assessments, ASAM criteria and paperwork meets federal, state, county and organizational standards and timelines
    • Provides consistent supervision, including support, feedback, clinical consultation within scope of practice, and clear expectations for meeting job standards and promotion of professional growth.
    • Conducts individual and family counseling as needed
    • Collaborates with members served to create Recovery Plan goals and ensure all services described in the Recovery Plan are provided
    • Consistent with expertise, provides specialized services and interventions related to substance use/addictive conditions, including thematic groups, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with external agencies and resources
    • Facilitate groups per the needs and interests of members, especially in the area of education and skill building related to Substance Use Conditions
    • Understands assessment tools and Harm Reduction Model
    • Provide and document, quality and quantity of direct services as required by program standards
    • Provides appropriate interventions in crisis situations
    • Collects required data and completes required documentation
    • Coordinates transitions to lower levels of care
    • Maintains awareness of community resources and assists members served in appropriate use of community resources
    • Assists members served with all needs, including Activities of Daily Living
    • Assists members served in making and getting to essential appointments
    • Assists and advocates for members served in obtaining appropriate benefits
    • Ensures that members served understand their legal status and rights
    • Helps members served achieve greater independence and autonomy
    • Adheres to 42 CFR policies and all other Telecare policies and procedures
    • Provides transportation when needed and appropriate
    • Writes thorough and goal-oriented client treatments plans, completes ASAM, assessments, and progress notes in accordance with current state and county regulations and statutes, and with Telecare Corporation's policies and procedures
    • If employed at inpatient program, must assist with restraint of members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training
    • If employed at outpatient program, must evade members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training
    Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management.

    • Ability to assess safety risks
    • Ability to easily build rapport, maintain engagement with members served, and hold hope in the face of adversity
    • Excellent driving skills
    • Knowledge of basic psychiatric terminology and interventions
    • Ability to discern between the different stages of change
    • Ability to use Motivational Interviewing skills
    • Familiarity with the 12-step program model and other and peer support models

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS


    The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


    The employee is occasionally required to stand, twist, squat, kneel, push, pull, lift, and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently sit, walk, reach, bend, and do simple and power grasping.

    The position requires driving and frequent hazardous exposure (blood borne pathogens, hospital waste, chemical, and infections).
