About us:

The Sleep Technician is responsible for performing sleep studies with digital equipment. This role completes all study related procedures under the director of the Unit Director and Site Director. It is essential that this position maintains accurate, confidential files and documentation of study participations.


Responsibilities:


  • Skilled operation of digital and analog sleep equipment while complying with all health and safety requirements
  • Standard electrode placement for PSG recordings
  • Setup and execution of bio calibrations and/or technical calibrations in accordance with specific study protocols and specific site instructions
  • Determine and eliminate test interference due to noise, sweat, hair, inaccurate electrode placement, and abnormalities of a biological vs. technical nature.
  • Convert computer files of several hours sleep results to proper format, catalogue, and process for neurologist reading.
  • Read and interpret study protocols regarding specific sleep montage setups in preparation of study start.
  • Note and correct equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot computer & related sleep equipment (including infrared lighting fixtures and nocturnal video cameras)
  • Clean and sterilize equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education and experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year's experience in sleep disorders is required. RPSGT certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in EKGs preferred.
  • Proficiency in Lab draws, processing, and shipping preferred.

  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal)
  • Ability to perform overnight business travel.
  • Organized
  • Able to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Very detail oriented
