Introduction:


The Prince William Public Library Human Resources Department is seeking a Human Resources Analyst to provide exceptional internal customer service to library management and staff.

The primary responsibility for this position is to assist hiring managers with recruiting efforts.

The Prince William Public Libraries currently employs over 270 staff, including full-time, part-time and substitute positions.

We are seeking a motivated, detailed-oriented HR professional who is passionate about assisting managers in hiring the best and helping the Prince William Public Libraries reach their strategic goals in serving the community.


About the role:

As the Human Resources Analyst for the Prince William Public Library, you will:

  • Assist hiring managers to prepare recruitment documents, such as position profiles, job ads, interview questions, etc. Edit documents for clarity.
  • Participate on interview panels as the Library Human Resources representative.
  • Assist with developing and facilitating Human Resourcesrelated training for managers and staff.
  • Provide general (nonrecruitment) Human Resources personnel policy and procedure guidance to management and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and other County agencies.
  • Assist in other Library HR functions, as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

HS Diploma or G.E.D., plus 4 years of Human Resources experience, including recruitment.

  • Experience participating on interview panels.
  • Experience reviewing and editing documents.
  • Demonstrated experience providing assistance to all levels of management.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite such as Word and Excel, specifically, to create documents, manuals, templates, reports and general correspondence.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system (Ex. Neogov).
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience prioritizing your workload and working independently to meet critical deadlines.
  • Experience working in an environment that requires confidentiality.

Special Requirements:

The position requires travel to County facilities and other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time exempt position, working 37.5 hours per week. The hours of the position are 8:30-5:00 Monday - Friday.

The position may require a weekend day (Saturday) for special events, such as Job Fairs, a maximum of 1 -2 times per year, scheduled in advance.


Starting Salary Range:

$64,311 to $77,480.75 annually, depending upon experience.
