Overview:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the general oversight of the accounting office, adhering to the companys Internal Control Standards and objectives. The Staff Accountant will support the Director of Finance in preparing the timely and accurate financial reports, according to the guidelines of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the company policies and procedures. Specific accounting functions include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Cashier, and Income Audit.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent experience.
Previous hotel/resort accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency with Opera PMS, Micros Simphony, and SaaS Accounting applications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, specifically mid-level experience with Excel.
Knowledge of GAAP and USALI preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Must be able to work beyond a 40-hour work week as needed, weekends and holidays when necessary.
A good aptitude for various software systems comprehension and use.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must have ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
