What does a Chemical Technician (m/f/d) do?

A Chemical Technician is a specialist in the chemical industry responsible for the production of chemical products.

Their tasks include following specified recipes to produce products, operating production equipment, quality control, adhering to safety and environmental regulations, maintaining equipment, and documenting processes.

As such, Chemical Technicians have a high level of responsibility in ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical standards and guidelines. They require knowledge of chemistry, technical skills, and a strong awareness of safety.

What is taught during the training?


During the training to become a Chemical Technician, you will learn specific knowledge and skills necessary for the production of pharmaceuticals and other chemical products.

This includes pharmaceutical basics, working in clean rooms, adhering to GMP guidelines, quality control, safety and environmental protection, handling specialized equipment and machinery, precise documentation, mathematical skills, and teamwork.

Apprentices are prepared for the demanding requirements of the pharmaceutical industry in order to produce high-quality and safe medications.

The training combines theoretical and practical elements, with apprentices learning theoretical foundations in vocational school and gaining practical experience through on-the-job training.
