- Greets, services and directs customers.
- Provides a variety of transactions for customers, including typical teller transactions i.e., taking deposits, cashing checks, processes savings account withdrawals and balancing duties, etc.
- Utilizes techniques to uncover customer needs and match to the Bank's products and services; offering a full range of retail products/services such as deposit accounts, loans, credit cards, and safe deposit boxes to meet established individual goals contributing to branch and bank wide goals.
- Opens deposit accounts for customers.
- Refer customers to appropriate business partners or department. This includes, but is not limited to, consumer, commercial and mortgage lending, cash management, investment, merchant services and insurance.
- Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of all bank products and services to effectively meet needs and goals of customers.
- Complies with all Federal Regulations, law and Bank policies related to Branch functions and effectively communicates to customers, i.e., placing a hold on a deposit.
- Effectively explain Bank policies and regulations regarding account-opening and loan origination procedures to obtain proper documentation for accounts.
- Support tellers and other Bankers.
- Maintain required documentation to track perspective, ongoing and closed sales.
- Participate in bank sponsored community activities.
- May perform joint sales calls with Manager or Lender.
- Respond to all calls and emails by the end of the business day. If an answer is not complete, an acknowledgement (call or email) should be made to explain the next steps.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successfully completed Relationship Teller training program and demonstrated proficiency in all areas of Relationship Teller job description within the first 30 days of hire.
- Successfully complete the Relationship Banker Training program within 120 days from hire date.
- Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with all types of calls and person-to-person contact.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and other peripherals.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form.
- Must be a self-starter, with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Hours may exceed a 40-hour workweek.
- Exercise a willingness to work any established business hours set by Bank.
- Occasional travel may be required to assist other branches, attend meetings and seminars as needed.
- Must be able to work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

Position Purpose:
The Banker is the "face of the Bank". The responsibility of the Relationship Banker position is to deliver the ultimate customer service experience while meeting all the customer's retail needs excluding lending. The Banker is an all-encompassing role to create a positive customer experience by effectively communicating a clear understanding of the benefits of the Bank's products and services. The Banker will engage in sales and service activities by recognizing and uncovering opportunities to achieve personal and bank wide sales goals. The time spent performing the sales or service tasks will be determined by the needs of the customer and may vary.
