Summary of Responsibilities
Provide leadership and accountability for personnel and productivity of assigned shift. Oversee and direct team members in a safe, quality-minded and productive manner to attain production priorities as scheduled. The manufacturing shift leader must possess excellent leadership and human relations skills, be decisive and responsible, and lead by example. The manufacturing shift leader must demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and work toward continual improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain effective communication with team members via pre-shift and individual meetings regarding company policies, procedures, work rules, process documentation and environmental regulations
Follow the principles of the Magna Team member Charter
Review all production objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with department manager and other shift personnel to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
Lead by example by wearing PPE at all times
Supervision of team members to include training and development, communication and enforcement of company policies and procedures, performance coaching and evaluation, and written documentation of team member performance issues
Lead all team members to focus on zero defects
Uphold confidentiality and build trust in Management
Schedule and assign team members to appropriate tasks to achieve department daily production, quality and housekeeping goals
Maintain an open and honest relationship with fellow team members and help develop this attitude; treat all team members with dignity and respect without favoritism
Conduct yearly performance reviews in timely manner
Schedule team member vacation and personal days per department guidelines and company policies
Promote and practice safety first policy by addressing all hazards, defective equipment and unsafe conditions immediately
Ensure team member safety awareness through training, pre-shift meetings, and individual consultation; strive for continuous improvement in injury reduction
Discipline team members per company policies and procedures
Trouble shoot and obtain appropriate support to fix problems using communication between, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Material Handling, HR and Tooling departments
Recommend measures for and participate in continual improvement of quality methods, equipment performance, and product quality
React and follow through with all quality issues to ensure that no defective products are shipped to customers
Maintain effective communication and coordination with all internal customers, plant management and team members; maintain positive team member relations
Co-establish and execute a production reporting system. Pareto downtime causes and establish reaction plans
Provide accurate daily reports on machine uptime, pieces per hour, scrap percentage and accidents
Handle confidential information on a regular basis
Promote and facilitate Open Door process without reprisal, effective communication and Fair Treatment
Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
Work with cross functional teams to meet all area goals and also be involved in continuous improvement projects
Co-Create a visual factory line performance hourly reporting and management system.
Follow and respect Master Recipe production equipment settings and processes to attain repeatable and high quality product
Co-manage preventive maintenance schedule and execution plan
Perform other duties as assigned
Leader Health & Safety Responsibilities
Ensure Team Members use or wear the protective equipment required by Vehtek Systems Advise Team Members of any potential hazards and/or provide written instructions as to the measures to protect the Team Member
Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a Team Member and report any known contravention out of their control to their BU Leader/Manager
Conduct accident / incident investigations and implement corrective actions and Continued Improvements
Conduct monthly safety inspections and implement corrective actions
Correct unsafe acts or conditions
Correct or commends health & safety performance
Adhere to and comply with and exceed where possible all applicable federal, state, and OSHA environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, external & internal standards and other requirements in all of its operations which relate to its health, safety and environmental aspects

Summary of Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives through lean systems & processes to facilitate production activity increasing throughput and minimizing system waste.
****Key Responsibilities****
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supports plant by recommending productivity and lean systems improvements/initiatives
Supports Manager in program establishment and follows-up all program stages (timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off, prototype programs & engineering changes)
Prepares reports, charts and other documentation required for engineering records and projects
Prepares drawings and material specifications as required by departments
Must be capable of handling projects from inception to completion.
Educate and train associates on the ways to improve the companys products, machines and processes.
Balance work cell man loading activities.
Look into the future of the organization and identify and eliminate short and long term problems that may occur.
Identify manufacturing challenges and attempt to remove or minimize impact to cost, logistics & complexity.
Analyze manufacturing data and based on the observations, give guidelines for standard operations.
Work towards increasing the efficiency of the manufacturing unit Reduced Scrap/waste; Improve OA.
Conducts method analysis
