TITLE Bus Monitor**:
- JOB GOAL
- contained classroom setting. To assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning class/computer lab environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program.
- **QUALIFICATIONS*
- Experience working with school
- Experience working with children with various learning and physical disabilities preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.
- Ability to write general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
- Ability to interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms.
- **PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Participates in planning and modifying activities/work assignments for individual students.
- Assist the teacher in implementing the activities /work assignments for individual students (small groups and individuals).
- Follow a lesson plan, chart or guide evolved by teacher.
- Consults frequently with the teacher about the needs, suggestions, questions, problems, and progress of the student.
- Assists the teacher in progress monitoring of students.
- Assists teacher in maintaining classroom discipline and control.
- Maintains adequate and legible records concerning his/her students work with teacher direction.
- Assists the teacher with preparation of instructional materials.
- Attends district inservice workshops for instructional aides when release time or pay is given.
- Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
- Participate in the Medicaid Reimbursement program which includes maintaining monthly logs on eligible students; attending scheduled training.
- Assists with personal care activities for special education self
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to fifty (50) pounds, such as boxes, supplies, etc.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and to interact with the public and other staff.

Non-Exempt, 10 month position, 186 days
Bus Monitor
Participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)
Base Salary**:
$14.50/hr
6 hours/day
holiday pay
(after 60 day probation)
sick/personal leave accrual **(after 60 day probation)
