    Description

    We will provide a personal level of healthcare and addiction treatment that addresses the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of everyone we touch.

    SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs.

    The Medical Assistant assists in the provision of quality health care to clients in a team approach.

    Voluntary Benefits including but not limited to, Disability, Life, Critical Illness, Accident and Disability Insurances
    including weight/height, vital signs, medication review, chief complaint and patient preparation as needed.
    Fill in as back up Health Unit Coordinator during their absence.
    Triage incoming telephone calls.
    Submit application for PT-1 form via website.
    Maintains adequate stocking of exam rooms on a weekly basis.
    Knowledge of the use of autoclave for sterilization of equipment and supplies.
    Must work an evening shift (6:30/7:00) once per week and/or coverage during vacation or callouts.
    Travel between three health centers located in Fall River, as needed.
    Completion of medication reconciliation, vaccine reconciliation, and depression screening on all patients.
    Position is contingent upon passing and becoming certified as a Registered Medical Assistant within 90 days of hire. Sensitivity to diversity issues and a commitment to cultural competency.
    Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese) preferred.
