We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Aircrew Supervisor in our Flight Operations Department in the Palmdale, CA area

This position is responsible for providing leadership to a team through all phases up to and including deployment.

In accordance with organizational goals, plans, coordinates and directs subordinate activities to meet established training requirements as well as executes flight mission planning, briefs and debriefs, and risk management.

Integrates logistics, administration, personnel, and training functions to ensure appropriate resource availability. Develops up to date accurate documentation and reports to reflect team activity. Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate units. Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to organizational policies. Provides leadership in the planning, selection, retention, and development of staff. Represents the team to upper level management and outside representatives and gives presentations as required.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leads and directs a team of up to 40 aircrew (both local and deployed; students and mission qualified) through all phases from predeployment through deployment, ensuring all required training and administrative tasks are complete.
  • Conducts risk management.
  • Works directly with deployment scheduler to ensure that assigned aircrew desires are included in deployment planning.
  • Provides direct communication and problem solving support to deployed personnel
  • Acts as single point of contact for assigned personnel for all issues (HR, ops, payroll, CAL, etc.).
  • Responsible for daily supervision, workload, task management.
  • Provides feedback to the FOM with regards to assigned aircrew performance
  • Monitors qualifications of assigned crewmembers to ensure that personal training plans are executed.
  • Works closely with the Stan/Eval Supervisor and the Training Officer to ensure that all service guidance is followed to ensure that all assigned crewmembers are current, May participate in the planning, selection, retention, and development of staff.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:


  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree, Masters or PhD in engineering, science or related technical field as well as eleven or more years progressively complex program administration experience with at least five of those years managing programs. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must possess:
  • The ability to resolve complex management and technical problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and present findings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, senior management and outside representatives
  • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work additional hours and travel as required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
  • Highly Desired:
  • Current qualification in the Predator/Reaper family of aircraft
  • MQ9 Launch and Recovery experience
  • Completion of the Air Combat Command Classroom Instructor Course or MAJCOM equivalent satisfies the CRI requirement
