Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the monthly financial close by preparing account reconciliations, submitting journal entries, and working cross functionally with other internal stakeholders to obtain relevant information.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting principles, ability to understand impact of payroll activity on financial statements and ability to analyze, explain P&L and Balance Sheet variances.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring the completeness and accuracy of applicable ledger accounts.
  • Answer accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data.
  • Assist in yearend audits and manage adhoc inquiries from external auditors.
  • Manage the posting of the biweekly payroll journals.
  • Reconciliation of the Salary data to the GL.
  • Explanation of Salary and Benefit related month over month variances.
  • Accounting for and reconciliation of the various benefit plans:
  • Life Insurance
  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • HSA
  • FSA
  • Transit
  • Become a back up to Payroll Manger and assist in payroll processing.
  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in Excel utilizing Pivot, VLOOKUPs and Functions for comprehensive reporting.
  • Provide support during payroll audits.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with HR and Finance to implement new processes and improve on existing processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 5 years' of experience in accounting, GL accounting software.
  • Minimum 3 years' of experience with payroll systems (e.x. Workday, ADP)
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficiency using Excel.
  • Preferred knowledge in Workday Payroll System.
  • Preferred knowledge in Deltek VantagePoint.
