Vice President, Regulatory Law - Washington, United States - Bloom Energy
Description
We are looking for Vice President, Regulatory Law to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies.
This individual will report to the EVP, General Counsel and Chief Compliance officer and will work with the General Counsel to develop the regulatory function and team.
Bloom's Vice President, Regulatory Law, will provide oral and written advocacy for the company before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and State Regulatory, Energy Policy and Environmental Agencies; develop, draft and negotiate regulatory positions and prepare public comments; and provide legal and regulatory counsel to internal clients on matters and issues across the regulatory spectrum.
She/he will serve as a primary attorney for the government affairs and business development teams within Bloom Energy and partner with these teams to maintain, develop, and expand policy and regulation to support the deployment of Bloom Energy Servers worldwide.
Location:
In greater Washington DC area or California Bay Area is preferred.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal clients in the advancement of Bloom Energy's business objectives across multiple jurisdictions
- Work crossfunctionally to identify, analyze, and mitigate relevant issues related to the introduction of new products and services; conduct policy and regulatory analysis.
- Manage regulatory process including monitoring regulatory developments, defining regulatory strategy, and drafting and submitting public comments
- Represent Bloom before regulatory agencies, broadly defined and enforcement authorities
- Develop messaging materials to be presented to senior government and corporate officials
- Research, understand, and communicate the detailed mechanics of energy policy
- Provide legal advice to Bloom Government Affairs, Business Development and Legal teams on regulatory and energy law matters.
- Lead agreementmaking process, develop, and maintain ongoing relationships with external stakeholders and policy makers on regulatory matters.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Law (JD / LLB) from an accredited law school
- Member in good standing of the California Bar.
- 18 or more years of legal experience as an energy attorney ; inhouse experience in a technology/energy company is a plus
- Able to thrive in a dynamic environment and grow and adapt as Bloom Energy grows
- Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills; ability to portray complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Background in working with elected and appointed officials and their senior legal and policy aides as well as senior officials of energy companies and energy investors
- Demonstrated understanding of the law and regulatory process
- Ability and drive to take ownership of projects and tasks.
- Creative thinker with strong problemsolving skills.
- Admitted to, and in good standing with, a state bar.

Salary Ranges:
$280, $370,000.00
