Please note: This is a weekend graveyard shift working _Saturday and Sunday 11pm to 7:30am_. The role is on-site at 180 New Montgomery in San Francisco
  • Academy of Art University is currently hiring a Communication Center Dispatcher to work within a team that is vital to the safety of our blended student, faculty and staff population. This person will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills, exercise good judgement and be able to answer phone calls from students and staff with questions regarding Campus Safety and Transportation needs.
  • Additional responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate and dispatch Campus Safety and Transportation Department calls for service via a two-way radio system and landline
  • Dispatch Campus Safety Officers and AAU shuttle driver when calls for service are received
  • Monitor and review the CCTV building cameras on all University campuses
  • Arm and validate building security alarms daily during each shift
  • Document and post the Campus Safety Patrol Daily Strategy on Yammer
  • Provide data entry for all investigative reports
  • Document Campus Safety and Transportation nonemergency, emergency, and transportation phone calls
  • Recognize and understand the University Transportation system, understand building locations and functionality
  • Preserve Clery report statistics for the University as required by the Department of Education
  • Print and activate University ID Cards
  • Act as System Administrator for the Campus Safety Records Management System
  • Requirements:
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in a related field is required.
  • Effectively communicate policies and safety procedures to a broad population.
  • Use sound judgement in difficult situations and solve problems in an effective manner.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service to everyone while performing assigned duties.
  • Manage time well and be able to prioritize competing tasks.
  • Solid computer skills
  • Compensation: $20.50 per hour
  • Shift: Saturday & Sunday graveyard: 11pm to 7:30am
