- Streamlining operative procedures by anticipating surgeon's needs.
- Keeping the circulating nurse updated on upcoming patient care requirements.
- Exhibiting advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques.
- Maintaining an organized sterile field and adhering to asepsis principles.
- Collaborating with team members in providing patient care.
- Serving as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures.
- Sharing knowledge and mentoring staff on instrument sets/techniques.
- Assuming a preceptor role for new and experienced staff in the scrub position.
- Demonstrating proficiency in using various instrumentation and equipment.
- Assisting in the assessment of new products and equipment.
- Exhibiting responsible conduct as a healthcare professional.
- Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year working as a Surgical Technologist.
- Required Certification/License:
- Surgical Technologist registration mandatory
- Eligibility for Surgical Technologist registration via Commonwealth of Virginia at hiring. Registration completion within 6 months of hire is required.
- BLS certification by AHA is essential.
- Preferred Certification/License: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) through NCCT.

These modern facilities are designed to ensure exceptional birth experiences in the years ahead. The Labor and Delivery Unit boasts 12 beds for labor and delivery and 3 C-section suites, supporting around 2400 births annually. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus along with relocation assistance.
