Description

Responsible for leading our team of talented software engineers, automation test engineers, UX designers and operation engineers within Bloomberg Industry Group.

Works with peers in the company's product organization and internal Engineering teams to align the technology roadmap so that we create and maintain great products that support the business vision, while looking for ways to further optimize the engineering and product development process.

This individual will continue to cultivate an environment that motivates, attracts and retains great talent, while encouraging collaboration, innovation, and execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

Shaping and executing technical strategies and roadmaps for their DevSecOps teams.
Provide thought leadership, technical guidance and has the ability to provide handson development and problemsolving assistance.
Lead the craftsmanship, architecture, security, availability, resilience, scalability, performance and cost effectiveness of the team's solutions.
Create a culture that encourages the team to stay on top of technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community.
Work collaboratively across the organization with stakeholders and teams to deliver against established goals.
Work closely with Bloomberg Industry Group engineering leadership to coordinate technical and resource planning and acquisition.
Mentor team members to create a strong bench and promote the growth of individual contributors.
Create an environment that encourages innovation, informed risk taking, and continuous learning and improvement.
Leads special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, architecture/design patterns, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Solid understanding of cloud technologies, CI/CD, Infrastructure as code, MicroServices and other modern technologies.
Ability to lead engineering teams in a fastpaced environment with competing priorities and a proven track record of delivery.
Experience in developing and maintaining standards and controls that support SOC compliance.
Business acumen with experience in the development of, and adherence to, budgets.
Demonstrated experience in partnering, collaborating, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both written and verbal, to technical and non

- technical audiences.

Ability to develop and obtain buyin on a technical vision that compliments and enhances the business strategy.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree preferred.
Demonstrated record of success leading distributed onshore and offshore software delivery teams using Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps practices.
