Job Title: Product Development, Test Engineer

Location: Remote

Salary: $75,000 – $110,000 per year

TPG is seeking a new team member to join our Product Development Team and help us to modernize our approach to customer experience. Our team is in the process of implementing changes that will bring our software development process to the forefront of modern best practices centered around DevSecOps and Agile methodologies. We are looking for a passionate test engineer that is eager to learn and implement cutting edge tools and techniques that drive TPG's business forward.

Job Description:

As a Software Test Engineer on TPG's Product Development Team, you will be participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment. TPG test engineers focus on providing a quality software product by leveraging industry best practices and tools.

Our Product Development team is the foundation of TPG's future as a technology leader in CX, focused on delivering software solutions that meet our client's high-paced needs. As part of that team, every day, you will have the opportunity to impact the future of TPG and its clients.

Team Contribution

• Take ownership in product design through design analysis and review of code for testability.
• Write, plan, and execute manual and automated regression tests with little to no supervision.
• Be an advocate for the end user; own the software release decision based on completed requirements and user experience.
• Explore and develop new ways to test our product.
• Talk with users and leadership to understand the exact need and expected functionality of the software.
• Perform problem solving activities with developers to understand bugs and pinpoint potential failures.
• Conduct feature, regression, integration, user acceptance, and exploratory testing.
• Follow the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, merge requests, and source control management.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong root cause analysis skills.
• Experience writing automated tests on every level of the test pyramid (unit, integration, e2e).
• Strong SQL (or similar) skills.
• Experience testing REST APIs either manually or automated.
• Version control. We use Bitbucket, but similar tooling is fine.
• Experience writing development or test code in Javascript, Typescript, Go, or C#. Similar languages can be considered.
• Familiarity with modern client-side frameworks like VueJS, Angular, or React.
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.

Additional Qualifications Preferred

• Experience with an automated test framework like Cypress, Selenium, or Katalon.
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Experience with load testing using JMeter, K6, etc.
