    The Center for Academic Success and Transition ( CAST ) office is seeking a creative and student-centered professional for the position of Academic Success Coach. The Academic Success Coach will be primarily responsible for supporting all UNL students' academic success and student engagement via one-to-one success coaching (in-person & Zoom), regular follow-up and outreach after coaching appointments, and caseload management for First Husker, Emerging Leader Scholarship recipients, first-year program participants, and other student groups. The Academic Success Coach will also be responsible for academic skills/engagement presentations and workshops, and teaching at least two first-year seminar courses. The Academic Success Coach will assist the Director in planning and coordinating interactive and dynamic academic support programs for first-year and other student cohorts (e.g. first-generation students, Emerging Leader scholarship recipients, transfer students, students on academic probation, and more).

    Minimum Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree plus two years' related experience required. Experience working with students at secondary or post secondary level in an advising, counseling, transitions or retention-related role. Experience providing academic programs to support student success (teaching, tutoring, peer mentoring, study groups, counseling, case management, etc.). Expertise in strategies and best practices for supporting students' academic success. Proficiency with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation and student management/course management systems essential. Ability to effectively problem solve, think critically, and communicate effectively with college students and staff in situations of shared responsibility and confidentiality. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to supervise, mentor, and evaluate graduate and undergraduate student staff. Ability to teach minimum 2 first-year seminar courses per semester.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Master's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or related liberal arts field.
