    • This is a Research environment. They are working on UI + Services (Full stack) for connected & autonomous vehicles to improve safety, enhanced services, and other features. The road map for this team is usually 2-3 years. The work they do "May never see the light of day". If they do not have the auto experience someone from an R&D environment would work best. If they come from a production development environment working on tickets, they will not like this job. These people are the creators and think brains of the company.

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer - Cloud to research and develop Smart City applications using connected and autonomous vehicles.

    We are developing the next generation of Nissan Intelligent Mobility at the Alliance Innovation Research Labs in Silicon Valley.

    As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to architect & develop software services running on our prototype vehicles, in the supporting cloud services and the data processing pipeline.

    This role provides a hands-on opportunity to develop future mobility concepts.


    Job Functions:

    • rchitect a cloud native solution to realize next generation mobility concepts
    • Lead the development team to create full stack (UI + Services) functional prototypes
    • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to build scalable solutions
    • Translate requirements from stakeholders into development tasks for the team
    • Develop high-quality, modular prototype software to support wide variety of requirements
    • Conduct end to end tests with prototypes and analyze experimental data
    • Mentor and manage junior members of the team
    • Track industry trends, evaluate new and alternative technologies; prepare proposals or reports related to present and future technology needs for new research projects
    • Lead group patent submissions, produce IP & maintain visibility of Alliance research and development activities in internal and external professional communities

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years programming in Java, C/C++, Python
    • 5+ Experience with cloud architecture and micro-services design patterns
    • Experience with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, Athena, Glu, Kinesis, Sagemaker)
    • Understanding of REST APIs and microservices
    • Strong experience with relational and NoSQM databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
    • Experience with web/mobile technologies (e.g., JavaScript, NodeJS, React, HTML/CSS)
    • Experience with containerized platforms (docker, kubernetes, etc.)
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Bonus Points:

    • utomotive experience
    • DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e. Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitHub)
    • Experience with machine learning and data analysis.
    • Experience with large-scale data pipeline and data analytics tools.
    • Experience with FreeRTOS and AWS IOT Greengrass
    • Experience with messaging protocols like MQTT, AMQP and DDS
    • Good understanding of the security principles including but not limited to the use of certificates, authentication, authorization, data encryption, secret management, etc.
    • Hands on experience with big data technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop, etc.
    • Experience of using geo-spatial mapping libraries like MapBox, Google Maps, etc.
    • Experience of working in a collaborative research lab
    Education
    Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Engineering disciplines or related fields with industry experience related to automotive engineering & computer science
