We are searching for a full-time Wellness Specialist to add to our team.

This position maintains our residents at the highest functioning level of independence they are capable of according to their disease, disability, or mental status.

Position also strives to ensure each resident's wellness and mobility needs are met.

Strives to ensure each resident's wellness needs are met by providing one on one wellness services and leading group classes.

Maximizes the rehabilitation of the individual by enhancing underutilized abilities and increasing their quality of life.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Train CNAs/PCAs on equipment and wellness programs as needed.
  • Keep inventory on all wheelchairs and all equipment, privately owned or facility owned and provide the updated inventory list to each Nurse Manager and the Wellness Coordinator.
  • Make all name bands for equipment upon admission.
  • Supply resident with proper equipment such as wheelchair, walker, and cushion etc. upon admission and sanitize the equipment upon discharge.
  • Sanitize all exercise equipment.
  • Ambulate residents per care plan.
  • Attend daily standup meetings as needed.
  • Assists as needed to provide wellness classes and programs in the Independent Living, Assisted Living and SNF.
  • Creates and develops new class routines as needed.
  • Works with Wellness Coordinator to learn and perform new existing and new class routines.
  • Able to lead participating staff members through either an individual or group personal training session or exercise class.
  • Completes charting on wellness services daily.
  • Understands and executes specific wellness programs created by the Therapy department or the Wellness Coordinator.
  • Works with the Therapy Department to see that specific recommendations are carried through when discharging a resident.
  • Works with Nurses and CNAs/PCAs to ensure that the restorative plan of caring is being followed.
  • Evaluates resident changes of condition and updates Therapy Department and Nurse Manager.
  • Completes wellness tracking for each resident as well as updating Nurse Manager, nurses, CNAs, PCAs with any changes in restorative.
Knowledge of or background in exercise and fitness strongly desired. Experience working with the senior population strongly desired. Knowledge of proper body mechanics is also a must for this position.
