Job Summary

Essential Functions

  • Performs a variety of semiskilled maintenance work in the operation of all airport facilities
  • Assist with repairs and services of plumbing fixtures and related items.
  • Assist in the performance of preventative maintenance, repairs on equipment, and component parts of all associated systems.
  • Performs pressure washing of building and walkways.
  • Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Assist journeymanlevel craft and trade staff
  • Provides assistance to facilities attendants with high level dusting.
  • Responsible for the cleaning of all building mechanical rooms, electrical rooms and IT rooms.
  • Assists in stocking of supplies and parts.
  • Assists other departments, move, and/or relocate furniture.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of standard tools, materials, and procedures used in maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, tools, equipment common to construction, maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to make minors repairs to maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform a variety of physical labor and duties and associated with maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to physically move and lift maintenance equipment and furniture.
  • Ability to care for and operate various types of power and manual equipment used for maintenance.
  • Ability to understand and analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, be focused on customer service, and be able to work well with others in a team environment.

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent; and
  • One (1) year of maintenance work experience.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
  • Florida Class E Driver's License is required and must be maintained.
Physical Demands


The physical demands consist of moving from one work location to another, standing for extended periods of time and may involve lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
