- Oversee the management of mission-critical applications, databases, and IT systems utilized by the Agency to deliver services and comply with state and federal regulations.
- Supervise and provide leadership to IT teams responsible for applications development, system administration, database management, IT support services, and related functions.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap to modernize legacy systems, adopt new technologies, and drive digital transformation initiatives aligned with the Agency's goals.
- Manage the planning, implementation, and deployment of new IT solutions, system upgrades, and enhancements to support evolving business needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, program managers, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure IT solutions align with the Agency's objectives.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development within the IT teams, fostering an environment that encourages knowledge sharing and adoption of emerging technologies.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department's (NYSED) Office of Information Technology Services is seeking candidates for a Manager of Information Technology Services 1 position.
The incumbent will report to the Manager Information Technology Services 2, and will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the information technology systems and applications supporting the Fiscal, Human Resources, and Child Nutrition programs and its operations.
The manager will lead multiple teams encompassing application development, system administration, data management, and IT support services.Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

This will be a contingent permanent appointment or a temporary provisional appointment.
