Looking for 2nd shift - hours 3:00 p.m. to 1:20 a.m. Monday - Friday_


Summary:


The Hone / Match Lap Operator will setup and operate honing and flat lapping machines to hone internal or external diameters or flat lap surfaces by performing the following duties.


The pay range is $19.00 to $35.00 per hour; the pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

There is a 5% shift differential for 2nd shift.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Read blueprints for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be honed.

Set up and operate hone machines to hone and match lap parts to print holding 10-30 millionths with millionths clearance.

Reviews tooling instructions for speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and honing tools to be used.

Position and secure mandrel in spindle of machine with proper honing stone.

Sets gauges to be used such as bore gauges and Sunnen gauge, to check parts.

Measures honed work piece for conformance to specifications.


Education and/or Experience:


A high school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is required with a minimum of three years' experience in related area.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.

Knowledge and use of all standard measuring tools, i.e., mics, calipers.

Demonstrated ability to operate honing machine.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders.

Ability to work with basic shop math.
