- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' dermatological concerns, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform a variety of dermatological procedures and treatments, including but not limited to biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and laser therapy, with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
- Provide patient education on skincare practices, disease prevention, treatment options, and medication management to empower patients to take an active role in their healthcare.
- Prescribe medications, topical treatments, and therapeutic regimens in accordance with established protocols and guidelines, monitoring patient response and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with dermatologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care, facilitate referrals to specialty services, and ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and continuing education activities to stay current on advancements in dermatology practice and enhance clinical skills.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and caregivers, addressing their concerns and providing compassionate support throughout the healthcare journey.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physician Assistant in dermatology or a related field.
- Strong clinical skills in dermatological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, including proficiency in performing dermatological procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care with a focus on compassion, empathy, and respect.
- CPR certification may be required depending on state regulations.
