    Position Summary

    The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for modeling the 3 Company values of Compassion, Integrity, and Excellence, and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the administrative facilitation of multiple HR initiatives in partnership with internal HR departments. This position acts as a liaison between the Human Resource Business Partners and Colleague Relations by providing quality support to colleagues and program leadership regarding investigations, conflict resolution, retention, corrective action and performance management.

    Position Specific Responsibilities
    • Using HR Acuity, responds to employment-related inquiries accurately and timely from team members and leaders, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Leads and executes Tier 1 and 2 level investigations independently, making appropriate recommendations for resolution to leadership.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigation outcomes with proficiency in all Compassus policies.
    • Facilitates mediations effectively amongst area leaders and team members.
    • Provides conflict resolution strategies that align with regional action plans.
    • Reviews accuracy of all corrective actions submitted in Workday by area and regional leaders.
    • Accurately creates separation agreements independently and tracks completion using DocuSign enterprise wide.
    • Manages the intake and submission of executed separation agreements enterprise.
    • Reviews and participates in the interactive process of ADA accommodation requests in collaboration with Benefits team and area leaders.
    • Assists HR Operations team with the review and recommendation of pre-adverse actions for MVR and/or Background checks, provisional hiring process, and assist programs with surveyor request.
    • Manages the reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol process.
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute Human Resource programs, including but not limited to, investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, culture, training and development.
    • Records sensitive data accurately and is thorough in communicating findings/recommendations with Compassus area and regional teams.
    • Assures company policies are administered fairly and consistently throughout the area of responsibility.
    • Communicates effectively and executes necessary changes to policies and procedures.
    • Performs advanced employee relations functions including support and counseling regarding team member and job-related conflicts, problem solving and dispute resolution, managing employee performance issues, review, and assessment of termination requests, and exit interviews.
    • Participates and facilitates all HR trainings, as assigned.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Assists HR Business Partners with HR initiatives and projects.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience preferred in Human Resources, Risk Management, or Recruitment required.
    • Experience in customer service working with a wide variety of people, exhibiting a high level of problem-solving skills and commitment to quality and safety highly desired.
    Skills
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, colleagues, investors, and external parties. Strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communications.
    • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy. Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to define problems, understand and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in a variety of forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to communicate recommendations to leaders to promptly track and resolve claims.
