We are looking for a component engineer to support Strategic Microelectronics at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.

**Duties include:**

+ Provide component engineering support to technologist team, to include writing technical reports

+ Advise military programs and designers on part selection

+ Troubleshoot component issues and recommend solutions

+ Understand electrical test methods and techniques, failure analysis tools and techniques, and material analysis tools and techniques

+ Interface with program offices, prime contractors, designers, parts manufacturers, test labs, and other government agencies

+ Develop and review test plan documentation

+ Provide complete life-cycle support of strategic systems

+ Participate in Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Audits, participate in Joint Electronic Devices Engineering Council (JEDEC) meetings, and perform reviews and make recommendations on Military Performance Specifications and Test Methods

+ Travel is required 25-50% of the time

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ Bachelors degree in electrical engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience

+ Component or Systems Engineering experience

+ Ability to communicate ideas to customers, program office, colleagues, and contractors

+ Understanding of Microsoft Excel with the ability to learn more complex functions

+ Ability to write technical reports

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Please note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Basic understanding of military industry standards (MIL-STD)

+ Component Engineer with a focus on quality and reliability standards and methods of IEEE parts

+ Understanding of the differences between military, industry, commercial, and automotive standards

+ Active Secret Clearance
