- Monitor, analyze, and track federal legislation and regulatory actions
- Draft policy briefs, memos, and reports
- Attend and summarize congressional hearings, agency policy briefs, and webinars
- Represent CTE at relevant coalition and stakeholder weekly and biweekly meetings
- Assist in the preparation of comments on proposed regulations and programs
- Support senior policy staff in advocacy efforts and contribute to the development of advocacy materials such as one-pagers, blogs, newsletters, and industry support letters
- Research and maintain a current understanding of relevant policy issues
- Assist with the coordination of meetings and briefings with stakeholders and policymakers
- Manage administrative tasks, including maintaining a database of legislative, regulatory, and stakeholder information
- Research grant opportunities from government agencies
- Identify opportunities that align with CTE's mission and the qualifications of our members
- Support/lead the development of grant proposals in collaboration with multiple stakeholders across multiple markets
- Outline and track solicitation requirements to ensure competitiveness and completeness
- Set and adhere to strict deadlines to ensure timely completion of deliverables across multiple stakeholders
- Draft and submit final grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the solicitation
- Develop relationships with funding agencies, sponsors, and other stakeholders
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals
- Display adherence to the organization's mission and maintain proficient knowledge of the CTE's history and programs
- Assist with the development of internal processes and procedures related to grant management
- Work with CTE's Salesforce Administrator to maintain a detailed database of CTE's pending and awarded project pipeline
- Strong interest in federal policy with an eagerness to learn and grow professionally
- Proficient in English writing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated history of collaboration and teamwork; strong people skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field
- 3+ years proposal/grant writing experience
- Experience using Salesforce or similar database software

Position Summary
CTE is seeking to add a dedicated Federal Policy Associate and Grant Writer. This dual-capacity role will equally split its focus between supporting federal advocacy efforts for CTE's Advocacy Team and supporting federal grant proposals for the Proposal Team. The ideal candidate is a deadline-driven team player with outstanding writing, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Applicants must also have the ability to consistently monitor and analyze federal legislation and grant program opportunities, draft policy briefs, collaborate with industry stakeholders, and write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. For this position, CTE prefers candidates that are committed to CTE's mission and that have experience working on public grant opportunities from federal government entities. Preference will also be given to candidates that are passionate about or have direct experience working in environmental policy.
