Description
Our client is seeking a Project Scheduler to assume responsibility for scheduling and coordinating projects, ensuring effective delivery while minimizing the impact on Commuter Rail system maintenance and operations.
Compensation: $100, $120,000.00
Location/Office Policy: Somerville, Massachusetts
Responsibilities of the Project Scheduler include:
• Schedule railroad/construction activities on KCS property using project management software
• Assist in developing technology solutions for project and maintenance planning
• Oversee all scheduling activities for supplemental work projects
• Develop and implement project controls (cost/resource loading, earned value analysis)
• Schedule track access and outages for project tasks
• Identify critical path activities and develop phasing to meet project scope
• Maintain and update project controls in compliance with contracts
• Attend construction meetings with contractors and clients
• Generate scheduling effectiveness reports for upper management
Qualifications of the Project Scheduler include:
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders
• Proven relationship-building and cross-functional leadership abilities
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera P6)
• Demonstrated project scheduling expertise (not administrative/calendar scheduling)
• Strong problem-solving, judgment, and innovation skills
• Forward-thinking, proactive, and driven by the pursuit of excellence
• Experience in rail, transportation, or infrastructure industries preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
