    Summary

    The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Administrator manages and safeguards our digital identities and access systems. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and security of ICC's information systems and ensuring that access rights are appropriately managed across our campus network.
    Essential Functions

    1. User Access Management: Control and monitor staff and student access rights across various college systems.
    2. Policy Implementation: Enforce IAM policies tailored to the educational environment of ICC.
    3. System Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain IAM tools and systems to ensure they meet the college's evolving needs.
    4. Lifecycle Management: Manage digital identities from creation (e.g., new student enrollments) to termination (e.g., graduating students, departing staff).
    5. Authentication Services: Oversee systems for secure authentication and authorization, including multi-factor authentication for sensitive data access.
    6. Compliance and Auditing: Ensure IAM practices comply with educational standards and regulations, conducting periodic audits.
    7. Incident Response: Act swiftly in the event of security breaches or issues related to identity and access management.
    8. Training and Awareness: Educate staff and students on best practices for digital identity security.
    9. Collaboration: Work closely with the IT department and other administrative units to ensure a cohesive approach to identity management.
    10. Perform related duties as required.
    Minimum Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
    1. Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT system administration, with a focus on security and access control.
    3. Solid understanding of identity management principles and technologies.
    4. Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to an educational setting.
    5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    6. Experience with common IAM solutions and platforms.
    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience working in an educational institution, particularly in a community college environment.
    2. Knowledge of specific compliance standards applicable to education, like FERPA.
    3. Familiarity with cloud based IAM solutions and directory services.
