Job Description:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Garden Center Director to oversee the operations and management of our Farmers and Builders Ace Hardware garden centers.

As the Garden Center Director, you will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring exceptional customer service, driving sales, and maintaining the overall success of the garden center within the Ace Hardware framework.


Responsibilities:


Leadership:

Provide strong leadership to the garden center team, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting teamwork and collaboration in alignment with Farmers and Builders Ace Hardware's values.


Operations Management:

Oversee daily operations of the garden center, including inventory management, merchandising, and maintaining visual appeal in accordance with Ace Hardware guidelines and standards.


Sales and Customer Service:

Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, meet revenue targets, and deliver excellent customer service, following Farmers and Builders Ace Hardware's customer-focused approach.


Staff Management:

Recruit, train, and supervise garden center staff, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide expert advice and assistance to customers in line with Farmers and Builders Ace Hardware's service standards.


Product Selection and Procurement:

Work closely with suppliers and the buying team to curate a diverse range of high-quality plants, garden supplies, and related products based on market demand, customer preferences, and our product offerings.


Marketing and Promotions:

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns, promotions, and events that align with Ace Hardware's brand guidelines to attract and retain customers.


Financial Management:

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, sales metrics, and expenses to optimize profitability and make informed business decisions within the framework of Ace Hardware's financial guidelines.


Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards, promoting a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers in accordance with Ace Hardware's policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a garden center or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and garden center operations.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management and sales analysis.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle various responsibilities in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial metrics.
  • Passion for horticulture and a genuine interest in helping customers create beautiful outdoor spaces.
