The Duxbury Public Schools is in search of candidates to join the team as an on-call substitute custodian, starting right away.

Pay Rate: $18.64 per hour

• Maintain cleanliness of the building and premises consistently.
• Clear snow, ice, and debris from walkways, parking areas, and steps as needed.
• Assist with plowing when instructed by the Head Custodian or Director of Facilities.
• Ensure all exit doors are accessible and panic bolts are functional during building hours.
• Handle raising and lowering the United States flag at specified times.
• Daily cleaning of classrooms, including furniture, chalkboards, etc.
• Vacuum rugs and carpets regularly.
• Clean corridors daily and as needed during the day.
• Regularly sanitize toilet floors, fixtures, and drinking fountains.
• Wash all windows inside and out.
• Keep school entranceways free of debris.
• Promptly report any major repairs to the Head Custodian or principal.
• Immediately notify the Head Custodian or principal of any damage to school property.
• Stay on school premises throughout work hours.
• Ensure the building is securely closed before leaving, including locking doors and windows and turning off non-essential lights.
• Move furniture and equipment as necessary for activities, following instructions from the principal or Head Custodian.
• Adhere to local regulations for waste disposal.
• Fill in at other school buildings as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
• Perform additional tasks as delegated by the administration.
