    Job DescriptionSalary:

    Booth Management Consulting, LLC (BMC) is a diverse CPA firm providing accounting, auditing, and management consulting services to public and private clients nationwide.     Job Summary: The Grants Specialist will provide grant management expertise and support for multiple state and federal grants from multiple funding sources undertaken by the Port of Long Beach, Finance Division.

    Responsibilities:

    • Write policies and procedures for grant management.
    • Prepare training materials on the Uniform Grant Guidance (2 CFR 200).
    • Assist with training staff on grant-required procedures.
    • Assist staff with preparing and reviewing required progress & financial reports.
    • Assist staff with grant application reviews and grant agreement reviews.
    • Provide expertise and guidance on grant-required provisions for procurement processes and contracts.
    • Provide expertise and guidance on sub-recipient agreements, pass-through procedures, and sub-recipient monitoring plans.
    • Assist staff with preparing reimbursement requests and tracking grant budgets, expenditures, and revenue.
    • Assist staff with the authorization, obligation, and/or allocation processes seeking agency approvals necessary to begin reimbursement (i.e., CTC allocation requests, Caltrans E-76 process, etc.).
    • Assist in the preparation of grant-required closeout reports.
    • Support the Port in preparation for and coordination of grant audits and Single Audits.
    • Provide grant research and grant application writing services.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, or related field.
    • At least 3+ years of experience in federal grants management; knowledge and/or experience working with federal/state grants.
    • Knowledge of federal laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and methods governing the evaluation of federal grants.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Uniform Administrative Guidance for Grants (2 CFR 200).
    • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise sound initiative, judgment, and adhere to the highest professional standards.
