The Foundation's Workforce Development Department partners with state agencies such as the California Workforce Development Board and the California Department of Rehabilitation to administer and manage funding designed to help scale programs and support workers with barriers to employment across California.
As an example, through partnership with the California Workforce Development Board, the Foundation is administering $26,960,000 in funding through the AB628 Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative.
The Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative aims to ensure that individuals from target populations receive the necessary supplemental, supportive, remedial, and wraparound services they need to successfully enter, participate in, and complete workforce and education programs and enter, be retained, and advance in the labor market.
What You'll DoThis position presents an exciting opportunity in support of our grant/funding management projects.
This role will provide program implementation guidance and oversight to partners in the field to support the effective administration of program funding.
The Specialist will be responsible for administrative work in relation to updating resources for new programs, establishing contracts and subgrants, processing invoices and performing report analysis, and capturing lessons and successes that can be shared internally and externally throughout the California workforce development and education systems.
What You BringProvide administrative support for assigned grantees and projects.
Leads grantee contracting, subgrant, and grant timeline management efforts.
Coordinates with grantees and internal partners to finalize contract and subgrant agreements including engaging in exhibit revisions, documentation gathering and processing, and tracking to ensure timelines are met.
Monitors grantee fiscal performance and spend down. Tracks all expenditures, processes invoices, and runs and analyzes expenditure reports in Salesforce Lightning. Identifies any spending or performance issues or data discrepancies.Provides technical support and training and develops any necessary grant guidance documents.
Acts as the main point of contact for all project related communications.
Oversees requests and inquiries from grantees and partners while providing exceptional customer service and timely follow-up.
Supports all program reporting and grant management activities for assigned grantees and projects.
Provides reporting guidance and direction for grantees.
Partners with the technical assistance team to identify, capture, and raise effective practices and successes.
Provides technical assistance and support for grantees who are struggling to meet their reporting timelines.
Presents findings, inquiries, and grantee questions to the management and technical assistance team.
Researches and utilizes appropriate regulations for both federal and state funding streams.
Tracks project/grant specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as part of the WDD team quarterly dashboard submission process.
Participates in and supports grantee community of practice events.
Develops and presents PowerPoint trainings
Relevant BA/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.
Minimum of three to five years of related work experience.
Minimum of two (2) + years of experience in an education or non-profit environment preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of workforce development concepts preferred.
Demonstrated writing and presentation skills required.
Experience with project and client management software desired, e.g., Salesforce, Workday. etc.)
High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Excel required.
