Overview:
- Ensures a safe and productive environment for collegians and staff
- Enforces all local and national Kappa Delta house rules, in addition to the rules, policies and procedures of the House Corporation and the University
- Supervises the kitchen and housekeeping staff
- Manages multiple service providers and submits quotes and invoices on a consistent basis
- Assists in the scheduling, supervision and review of the work of any outside contractor
- Reports to House Corporation/Property Management on major improvements needed and the long term care and upkeep of the facility
- Responds to any safety or maintenance emergencies and alerts Property Management Firm (if applicable) and/or HC President when they cannot be immediately resolved
- Completes grocery and supply shopping using necessary sources
- Communicates house maintenance issues to House Corporation/Property Management
- Communicates any unusual trends and/or problems within the Chapter to the Chapter Advisor and House Corporation
- Communicates regularly with Chapter President, House Manager, Housekeeping, Kitchen Supervisor, Caterer, and House Corporation/Property Management
- Maintains a monthly budget and reports expenses to House Corporation/Property Management
- Encourages proper communication and respect among members
- Serves as the official hostess for the Chapter at social events held at the Chapter House
- Creates and fosters a comfortable atmosphere within the Chapter House
- Must be onsite, overnight, 7 nights per week when members are in residence, except when prior arrangements have been made for other adult supervision.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Outstanding written and verbal communication
- Exemplary organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information
- Professional and diplomatic interactions with students, parents, alumnae, service providers and community resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly with collegeage women, including patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor.
- Physically active, able to climb up and down several flights of stairs daily, and lift 25 pounds if necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Property/Facility Management experience (nonleasing agent)
- Previous House Director experience
- Proven managerial skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Pay:
$60, $70,000.00 per year
