The Upward Bound Program is an academic experience for high school students from 5 LAUSD high schools.The purpose of the program is to assist first-generation, college-bound high school students to prepare and succeed in postsecondary education.
This summer, Upward Bound is looking for 2 daytime assistants to help with the preparation, implementation, and closing of our 5-week residential summer program for student participants during the summer 2024 months.
Assistants who are college students in a 4-year university are preferred.
All applicants must pass a background check because they will work with minors.
- Assist with daily preparations for summer program (paperwork completion, work with excel spreadsheets, create posters, etc.)
- Assist with student activities during summer program (hallway monitoring, handle paperwork, walking students to and from dorms, printing, etc.)
- Running errands (distributing snacks, food, monitoring student lines, counting students, etc.)
- Help students with assignments.
Qualifications:
- Must be a college student.
- Must enjoy working with high schoolaged students.
- Available to work Monday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the USC campus.
- Daytime assistance must've at least finished freshman year.
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds
Starting Rate:
$17/hour
