Pay PlanThis opportunity is exempt and budgeted on Pay Grade #20.The pay plan range below is shown to represent opportunities for growth and development within this opportunity.

We are seeking to hire between the Min to Mid range of the pay grade shown dependent upon qualifications.

Min $ 15.71Mid $ 18.85Max $ 21.99 For application support, or to check the status of your application, contact Human Resources by e-mailing Examples of Duties Scrubs, cleans, dust, sweeps, mops and vacuums all city facilities on a scheduled basisUses daily schedule to perform various tasks such as washing entrance window, cleaning fixtures/restrooms and high dustingPerforms general housekeeping and custodial duties of City facilities to include shampooing carpets, waxing floors, collecting and disposing of trash, recycle items, floor maintenance, changing light bulbs, dusting, painting and other tasksWalks and/or drives to and from all municipal buildings as assignedResponsible for completing cleaning schedules, ensuring proper tools, supplies, materials and equipment are ordered/stocked/transported to work sitesPrepares Council Chambers and conference rooms for scheduled events according to requested floor plan and room design setupOperates commercial floor care equipment - buffers, carpet extractors and miscellaneous equipmentEnsures a safe work zone by proper use of signage, step ladders, and cleaning chemicals and equipmentPerforms work orders as scheduled for regular and preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and area under chargePerforms minor maintenance to include hanging pictures, moving boxes and furniture and other miscellaneous duties as requestedArranges equipment, tables and chairs for meeting eventsMonitors inventory and condition of custodial and maintenance equipment, provides periodic inventory reports and replacement equipment requests to supervisor, and cleans and performs minor servicing of equipmentAdheres to departmental, personnel and safety rules and regulationsInforms Superintendent of potential hazards, problem areas, public inquiries and the status of other work activities Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)One (1) year of cleaning and/or custodial experienceValid Texas Class C Driver's License - driving record must be in compliance with City policy.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMay be required to lift up to one hundred (100) pounds.
Will be required to work evening and weekends; and overtime as needed.

Mandatory contributions via payroll deduction - employee contributes 7% and the City matches Term Life Insurance plan of $20,000 paid for by the City of Murphy.

Supplemental coverage is available for purchase by the employee. Medical/Dental/Vision insurance. City pays the full premium for employees and provides a 50% premium contribution for qualified dependents. PPO plan with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dental plan with Ameritas and Vision plan with VSP. Benefits are deducted pre-tax, see table below for rates.

Telemedicine, including a behavioral health component, fully funded by the City of Murphy Flexible Spending Health and Dependent Care accounts available for employee contribution.

Long-term disability insurance paid by the City of Murphy. Identity Protection plan available through My ID Care.

Longevity pay:

All full-time employees receive $4.00 per month for each year of service beginning the month following the first full year of service.

Employee Assistance Program provided free to employees and family members.

Vacation:

Two weeks (10 days) annually through the first five years, three weeks (15 days) annually from 5 years to 10 years, and four weeks (20 days) annually for 10 years of service and beyond.

Time accrues incrementally each pay period.

Sick time:
Two weeks (10 days) annually - accrued incrementally each pay period. Time can be rolled over each year to a maximum of 720 hours. 10 paid holidays per year. Deferred Compensation Plan (457) offered by Mission Square. Optional and fully funded by the employee.
