Description

Responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater treatment plant systems and related equipment to ensure proper operations. Controls wastewater treatment plant operations in accordance will all established regulations, standards, and procedure. Performs inspection, operation and maintenance of lift stations, electrical controls, pumps, devices and valves. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance. Performs and documents compliance with testing process, calculations, and formulas.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED, supplemented by vocational/training in wastewater treatment plant operations and collection systems, plus one (1) to two (2) years relevant work experience and/or training involving wastewater treatment plant operations, wastewater collection systems, and equipment maintenance or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Arizona Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate and Grade II Wastewater Collection Systems Certification with one (1) year of employment.

Grade I Water Distribution and Treatment Certification within one (1) year of obtaining the position.

Preferred Skills:
Arizona Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate and Grade II Wastewater Collection Systems Certificate. Grade I Water Distribution and Treatment Certificate.

Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Class A Commerical Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement License or the ability to obtain it within one (1) year from date of hire.
