Description
Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer at our client's Lancaster, SC location plays a crucial role in enhancing plant operations through process improvements.
Focused on boosting productivity and cost-efficiency, this position is integral to our commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards in a FDA regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and implement projects that improve manufacturing processes, emphasizing safety, quality, and cost reduction.
Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes including workflow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles to enhance operational effectiveness.
Coordinate with various teams including marketing, packaging engineers, and product development for new product launches.
Conduct time studies to develop performance standards and justify capital expenditures.
Manage cross-functional project teams from conception through to execution.
Prepare and monitor key performance indicators and continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
2-4 years in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a similar industry.
Skills:
Proficient in CAD, SPC, and Gantt Charts; strong problem-solving and statistical analysis skills.
Certifications:
Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of Lean tools and principles; familiarity with FDA regulatory environment is advantageous.
Key Competencies:
Leadership, communication, project management, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Additional Information:
Work Environment:
The role involves a combination of office work and time on the manufacturing floor.
Travel
Requirements:
Minimal travel may be required for training or project-related work.
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Operations Manager.
