- Assist in preparation of sales and use tax returns, business license renewal, and property tax returns.
- Assist with organization of the shared tax folder.
- Maintain monthly tax calendars & account reconciliations schedules.
- Assist with tax process improvement projects.
- Assist in the preparation of tax provision and compliance work papers.
- Liaise between tax department and various other departments.
- Support month-end close process and quarterly tax provision process.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and analysis, as needed.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Rising Junior or Senior in active pursuit of a Bachelor's degree.
- Prior completion of basic accounting/tax courses required.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.

About the Role
Gain hands on tax experience as an Intern in Matson's Tax Department. The Intern rate of pay is $25/hour.
This position requires the successful candidate to be in-office at our Oakland Corporate office at least 3 days per week.
