Summary
Camp Ronald McDonald is a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC). RMHCSC's mission is to provide comfort, care, and support to children and families in Southern California.

To achieve our vision of creating a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, and joy.

RMHCSC operates seven Ronald McDonald Houses and three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, along with Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times (Camp).

Nothing can compensate for the anguish that childhood cancer inflicts, but since 1982, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times has helped thousands of children and their family members recapture hope, enthusiasm, and love of life in a medically and psychologically safe environment created especially for them.

Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times offers a variety of residential camping opportunities for cancer patients, their siblings, and parents all year long.


The Development & Communications Coordinator is a member of the Camp's Development Team responsible for development support and overseeing the Camp's communications through digital media, social media content, and printed materials to support the Camp's fundraising and marketing initiatives.


Responsibilities:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Communications and Marketing:


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan to raise awareness of the Camp's mission and programs.
  • Create engaging content for digital and print materials, including newsletters, website updates, appeals, social media, and press releases.
  • Manage social media accounts and engage with followers to foster a sense of community and support.
  • Monitor media coverage and identify opportunities to promote Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to track and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and fundraising efforts, and provide insights for optimization
  • Ensure brand consistency with RMHCSC across all marketing materials and communications, and actively contribute to the development and maintenance of brand guidelines
  • Be an active contributor to the RMHCSC Marketing and Communications Cohort

Fundraising Coordination:


  • Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development, assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to achieve annual revenue goals.
  • Coordinate fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, awareness campaigns (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month), and special events.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners to maximize support for the organization.
  • Support the execution of fundraising events, including donor receptions, galas, and community outreach events.

Donor Relations and Stewardship:


  • Cultivate relationships with donors through personalized communication, stewardship activities, and donor recognition efforts.
  • Provide excellent customer service to donors, responding promptly to inquiries and requests.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to identify opportunities for donor engagement and cultivation.

Administrative Support:

Provide administrative support to the Development department, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.


Collaborate with internal teams including program staff, volunteers, and board members to ensure alignment of marketing and development efforts with organizational priorities.

Provide support to the Development Associate with donation entry and processing.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development.


Qualifications:

A proven record of exceptional accomplishment in writing, editing, proofreading, and layout/design skills. Self-motivated and able to solve problems. Superior project, time, and organizational management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and personalities. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • 35 years of related work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in marketing, promotions, public relations, and special events.
  • Confident communicator and outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must possess the ability to project manage and work in a fastpaced environment, managing multiple priorities.
