Duties:

As an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) at the GS level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Receiving, reviewing, coordinating, maintaining, monitoring, and recording a variety of criminal case actions.
  • Utilizing office automation equipment and various software packages (commercial and propriety to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) to accomplish work.
  • Composing nontechnical correspondence based on brief verbal instructions or written notes.
  • Communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders concerning prisoner movement.

Must complete an initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s).

This is a bargaining unit position.

Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening.

May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.


Qualifications:


GS-07 TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 grade level.
(Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience at the GS-06 or equivalent grade level, which includes 1) Coordinating the movement of prisoners; 2) Maintaining an automated database program; 3) Processing a variety of legal actions such as condemnation orders, writ of attachment, garnishment, etc.; and 4) Utilizing Microsoft office suites to draft correspondence, record data, present information, etc.

Proficiency Required:

This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
